Wallaga Lake

Elders Social Group

Who are we?

On 16 April 2013, representatives from Kuranya, Red Cross and Eurobodalla Meals on Wheels met with 10 Wallaga Lake Elders over afternoon tea to discuss ideas on how best the three organisations could support the Elders of Wallaga Lake.

The Elders decided that the best outcome for them would be support for a monthly Wallaga Elders Social Club.

In deciding on a Social Club, the Elders expressed their desire to meet together for social interaction, fun and friendship with a luncheon.  The Elders further decided to initially meet monthly, on the first Thursday from 11am to 2pm or later if needed.

The Elders requested activities such as bingo, trivia and film days.

The Elders stated that they spend a lot of their time with the younger people, helping out with their kids, that they wanted some time to themselves to have fun.

Wallaga Elders Social Club then kicked off on Thursday 2 May 2013 and has been running ever since!  We are looking forward to celebrating the club’s  3rd Birthday on Thursday 5 May 2016.

Wallaga Elders Social Club is now proudly supported by Kuranya (Uniting), Red Cross, Eurobodalla Meals on Wheels, Eurobodalla Shire Council and Merrimans Land Council.
